THE DOORSTEP CODE DON'T open your door without using the doorstep code. OBSERVE FIRST, look through a window or door viewer. ONLY open your door after connecting a chain or limiter. RECORD the caller's description and car number. SWITCH on outside lights when it is too dark to see who is there. THINK THIEF! Don't leave strangers alone in your home. EXAMINE identity cards. Genuine officers always have them. PROTECT yourself. If unsure, contact the Police or a neighbour. Thieves who trick their way into your home may be of any age, sex, appearance, political or religious persuasion and may give any number of reasons to persuade you to let them in. If you do not know the caller, be extremely careful. |
